There is an overwhelming amount of information out there about mindfulness. As a practitioner and instructor of Mindfulness Based Wellness and Pedagogy, I present mindfulness and the practices attached to it in a simple, and easy-to-understand package. I am very passionate about these teachings, and I have lots of ways to organize and present them to fit your needs.
In addition to a musical focus, Dr. Miescke has also created a version of his teachings to better connect to a broader arts audience. No matter your area of expertise, from photography to drawing, sculpture to graphic design, we all have inner dialogs that can color our perceptions and change the way we see ourselves and our craft. If you are interested in a presentation for a specific group, please contact me and we can discuss how best to tailor a presentation to your needs.
Possible workshop options include:
- Standard lecture, 1-2 hours
- This can cover an introduction to mindfulness and its application to music—1-2 hours. This is ideal for larger groups of people of varying artistic backgrounds, such as the students of an entire music or arts department
- Workshops, 2-3 hours or longer
- This offers the flexibility for more interaction and instruction with the participants, and is best with groups of 30 or less
- All-day workshop – up to 6 hours of instruction (with breaks)
- Will include several chances to participate in guided mindfulness practices and meditations
- Provides a deeper sense of mindfulness and how to apply it to daily life and music
- Participants will leave with print materials to help organize their own mindfulness practice
*All workshops are available in synchronous or asynchronous online formats*
